"Above all else, guard your heart, for it is the wellspring of life.". Solomon, who is believed to have written most of the Book of Proverbs in the Bible (in Christian terms, the Old Testament), advises us to ensure that our feelings of love and desire lead us along the right path and do not lead us astray.

I was born a Manxman - a native of the Isle of Man in the centre of the British Isles - and my heritage from there sometimes brings a Celtic element to my work. However, another side of my personality has often been expressed in my acrylic painting and photography in a more extraverted, Mediterranean way. This has no doubt been influenced by the fact that I have travelled through Europe and elsewhere in the past, but I have come to look for inspiration nearer to my home in recent years in a beautiful part of the north of England. My Christian faith underlies what I do in art as in the rest of my life. I am a retired clinical psychologist and am married with children and grandchildren.
