When Jesus was riding into Jerusalem on a donkey on his final journey on the way to the Cross, the Pharisees told him to require his followers not to praise his coming along the way. Jesus replied that even if he did, all creation would in any case be 'rejoicing' in the matter of his part in the place of universal history. This has been taken as encouragement to Christians since then.

I was born a Manxman - a native of the Isle of Man in the centre of the British Isles - and my heritage from there sometimes brings a Celtic element to my work. However, another side of my personality has often been expressed in my acrylic painting and photography in a more extraverted, Mediterranean way. This has no doubt been influenced by the fact that I have travelled through Europe and elsewhere in the past, but I have come to look for inspiration nearer to my home in recent years in a beautiful part of the north of England. My Christian faith underlies what I do in art as in the rest of my life. I am a retired clinical psychologist and am married with children and grandchildren.
