A family of mute swans glides silently along a cool stretch of the River Lune near Lancaster in North Lancashire, England, UK.The water has a mesmerising quality all of its own and its luminosity is in stark contrast to the brilliance of the white parent swans ushering their family along near the river bank. Technically, the Queen retains ownership of all unmarked swans in British waters.
About Nigel Radcliffe
I was born a Manxman - a native of the Isle of Man in the centre of the British Isles - and my heritage from there sometimes brings a Celtic element to my work. However, another side of my personality has often been expressed in my acrylic painting and photography in a more extraverted, Mediterranean way. This has no doubt been influenced by the fact that I have travelled through Europe and elsewhere in the past, but I have come to look for inspiration nearer to my home in recent years in a beautiful part of the north of England. My Christian faith underlies what I do in art as in the rest of my life. I am a retired clinical psychologist and am married with children and grandchildren.
