Artist's Description
As a background to this biblical quotation is a view of Lake Tiberias, or more familiarly known to Christians as Lake Galilee, in Northern Israel. This will be virtually unchanged since Jesus walked there 2000 years ago. Across the Lake are the Golan Heights. Jesus speaks here of how the listener then (or reader now) should understand his relationship with God and consequently turn to him. Some put different interpretations on this but it remains at the heart of the Christian Gospel.
About Nigel Radcliffe
I was born a Manxman - a native of the Isle of Man in the centre of the British Isles - and my heritage from there sometimes brings a Celtic element to my work. However, another side of my personality has often been expressed in my acrylic painting and photography in a more extraverted, Mediterranean way. This has no doubt been influenced by the fact that I have travelled through Europe and elsewhere in the past, but I have come to look for inspiration nearer to my home in recent years in a beautiful part of the north of England.
