Glassson Dock is a small village which nevertheless is a port for Lancaster and which was built 200 years ago when ships were finding it difficult to navigate their way up the River Lune to the city. It also shelters a marina which has mooring faclilities for 220 boats.

I was born a Manxman - a native of the Isle of Man in the centre of the British Isles - and my heritage from there sometimes brings a Celtic element to my work. However, another side of my personality has often been expressed in my acrylic painting and photography in a more extraverted, Mediterranean way. This has no doubt been influenced by the fact that I have travelled through Europe and elsewhere in the past, but I have come to look for inspiration nearer to my home in recent years in a beautiful part of the north of England.
