Here we are, in between seasons, having left the rustle of leaves of autumn but with a sunny day fighting off the chill in the air in November. This is at the Crook o'Lune, Caton, near Lancaster, ie.a sharp bend of the River Lune, four miles from the city, before it reaches Morecambe Bay. The bridge carries the road from Caton to the nearby village of Halton.

I was born a Manxman - a native of the Isle of Man in the centre of the British Isles - and my heritage from there sometimes brings a Celtic element to my work. However, another side of my personality has often been expressed in my acrylic painting and photography in a more extraverted, Mediterranean way. This has no doubt been influenced by the fact that I have travelled through Europe and elsewhere in the past, but I have come to look for inspiration nearer to my home in recent years in a beautiful part of the north of England. My Christian faith underlies what I do in art as in the rest of my life. I am a retired clinical psychologist and am married with children and grandchildren.
