The Azure Window was a dramatic geological, limestone structure on the coast of Gozo, the small island off Malta in the Mediterranean Sea. It became well known widely through its being featured in 'Game of Thrones'. This image is based on a photograph I took some years ago. The arch very sadly collapsed through gradual erosion on 8th March 2017.
I was born a Manxman - a native of the Isle of Man in the centre of the British Isles - and my heritage from there sometimes brings a Celtic element to my work. However, another side of my personality has often been expressed in my acrylic painting and photography in a more extraverted, Mediterranean way. Hi Nigel, I like your Azure Window very much. Is it possible for me to purchase a high definition image so that I can print locally in Melbourne? Regards. Carmel
Nigel Radcliffe replied:
Hi Carmel. Thank you very much for your kind comment. Unfortunately, you can only buy prints from fineartamerica in the usual way on the website. However, there are distribution centres all over the world and two, in fact, in Australia, ie. Sydney and Brisbane. I presume they can produce anything which is shown at the sizes indicated by them and | have no reason to believe that the quality there is any different from that from other centres. I have purchased from the US and then the UK centre when that was set up more recently and the quality was just as good from both. As to definition, you may have to consider this yourself as this is only according to the pixels shown when you click on a Preview box on the image. Would that make sense? I'm not technically minded! I imagine they would indicate postage cost from Sydney to Melbourne before you purchase. I hope this helps and is not a disappointment. Best wishes, Nigel

Thanks a lot, Lavender. This wonder of nature very sadly collapsed on 8th March 2017 after gradual erosion.

Well done! Looks like a photo but better than a photo!

WOW! Really, really awesome, Nigel
Nigel Radcliffe replied:
Thanks very much, Charles. It was an awesome experience just to be there, too, with the waves crashing all around.
