Description
The Ribblehead Viaduct is a masterpiece of Victorian engineering in North Yorkshire, England, serving what is a beautifully scenic railway between the town of Settle and the city of Carlisle near the Scottish border. It is 400 metres long and made of one and a half million bricks. The line was in danger of being closed in the 1980s but was saved. This image is dedicated to a friend who was very much committed to saving the line.
