Your image gets printed directly onto a sheet of 1/16" thick aluminum. The aluminum sheet is offset from the wall by a 3/4" thick wooden frame which is attached to the back. Fields of wheat await the harvest at Chilcomb near Winchester, Hampshire, England. The church of St Andrew has altered little since the days of William the Conqueror in the 11th century.. A swallow swoops over the field watching for an insect lunch. The saying is attributed to Aristotle. I am cheating here by implying that the swallow does not mean that the harvest is safe from bad weather before it is harvested, knowing this all too well as a farmer's son.

I was born a Manxman - a native of the Isle of Man in the centre of the British Isles - and my heritage from there sometimes brings a Celtic element to my work. However, another side of my personality has often been expressed in my acrylic painting and photography in a more extraverted, Mediterranean way. This has no doubt been influenced by the fact that I have travelled through Europe and elsewhere in the past, but I have come to look for inspiration nearer to my home in recent years in a beautiful part of the north of England.
