This is the first of a series of images which I took some years ago in Morocco, North Africa, which have been restored and which I now feel deserve wider attention. Unfortunately I did not find out the purpose of the gathering of mules - which appear to be pack animals - in such a large number but this event against the background of the mighty Atlas Mountains was a tremendous experience.
I was born a Manxman - a native of the Isle of Man in the centre of the British Isles - and my heritage from there sometimes brings a Celtic element to my work. However, another side of my personality has often been expressed in my acrylic painting and photography in a more extraverted, Mediterranean way. This has no doubt been influenced by the fact that I have travelled through Europe and elsewhere in the past, but I have come to look for inspiration nearer to my home in recent years in a beautiful part of the north of England. My Christian faith underlies what I do in art as in the rest of my life. I am a retired clinical psychologist and am married with children and grandchildren.
