The beach here borders on the small village of Morfa Nefyn on the Llyn Peninsula which protudes from the North coast of Wales in the British Isles. It extends beyond the island of Anglesey and resorts along this picturesque coast. We stayed here in a friend's house on an idyllic, autumnal and restful holiday. I can hear the crunch and crackle of the dead ferns or bracken as one walks around the bay.
I was born a Manxman - a native of the Isle of Man in the centre of the British Isles - and my heritage from there sometimes brings a Celtic element to my work. However, another side of my personality has often been expressed in my acrylic painting and photography in a more extraverted, Mediterranean way. This has no doubt been influenced by the fact that I have travelled through Europe and elsewhere in the past, but I have come to look for inspiration nearer to my home in recent years in a beautiful part of the north of England.
