The island of Kalymnos is one of the beautiful Dodecanese ('ten') island group in the Aegean Sea off Greece. It is not only a tourist location but is also a sponge-diving base, as well as increasingly popular for rock-climbing.This hand-cut collage is chiefly made from separate card-cut houses, tissue waves and pan scrub trees, with acrylic painted mountains.

I was born a Manxman - a native of the Isle of Man in the centre of the British Isles - and my heritage from there sometimes brings a Celtic element to my work. However, another side of my personality has often been expressed in my acrylic painting and photography in a more extraverted, Mediterranean way. This has no doubt been influenced by the fact that I have travelled through Europe and elsewhere in the past, but I have come to look for inspiration nearer to my home in recent years in a beautiful part of the north of England.
