Description
Hornby Castle is a landmark to be seen for miles around, especially coming along the road from the city of Lancaster (in the north of England) in the west. It is thought that it was originally built for the Neville family in the thirteenth century but it has had many alteration since then. It lies above the River Wenning, a tributary of the Lune which descends to Morecambe Bay.
Sea trout will spawn in the river and then the fish will go down to the sea to feed before returning to their natal river, leaping up with great perseverance - if one may use that term - over weirs to spawn again in their own place of birth.

Great clear picture of rapids and distant castle with capture of leaping trout not easy to do. You got my vote in England competition.

Perfect Timing !...or to use a common cliche - being at "The right place at the right time".....
Nigel Radcliffe replied:
Thanks, Douglas. I have to confess that there were a few other attempts deleted (some where the fish had disappeared in the foam altogether)!
