Jeremiah was a preaching prophet in the Old Testament of the Christian Bible, living in about the 7th/6th century B.C. The full verse is ' "For I know the plans I have for you", declares the Lord, " plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future" ' The wildflower, a form of thistle, was growing in the countryside of Galilee.
About Nigel Radcliffe
I was born a Manxman - a native of the Isle of Man in the centre of the British Isles - and my heritage from there sometimes brings a Celtic element to my work. However, another side of my personality has often been expressed in my acrylic painting and photography in a more extraverted, Mediterranean way. This has no doubt been influenced by the fact that I have travelled through Europe and elsewhere in the past, but I have come to look for inspiration nearer to my home in recent years in a beautiful part of the north of England. My Christian faith underlies what I do in art as in the rest of my life. I am a retired clinical psychologist and am married with children and grandchildren.
