Description
We are especially blessed in the English countryside where all the senses are enlivened especially on a walk in the late spring day such as this, near Lancaster in the UK. This is the parish church at the village of Quernmore.Sights and smells are brought to the fore in the intense perfume of the may blossom as well as the yellow gorse; other special sights were butterflies such as the green hairstreak, the orange tip and the small white as well as the red damselfly. The quietness on this day was broken by the sound of the cuckoo along with other birds including the blackbird and the lapwing; one could touch the velvety moss covering of stones and taste the cool, fresh water from a nearby stream. How privileged we are if we have most if not all senses intact.
